James, first and only Marquise of Dalhousie, became the youngest ever Governor General of India at the age of 33. The India room celebrates his magnificent contribution in the development of the Indian Empire.

A large L-shaped room overlooking the River South Esk and facing south across open parkland and forests. Refurbished in a dramatic and distinct Indian style, this room has a canopied Raffia double bed and furniture. The bathroom has a distinct Indian flavour in its decor along with today's modern bathroom facilities.
