Castle Leslie is home to Sir
John and Sammy Leslie whose lineage goes back to Attila the Hun.
In 1600 Bishop Leslie, fighting Cromwell, falls in love with
a magical Irish lake and retires here. Charles Powell Leslie
becomes Uncle to Wellington and old Sir John marries New Yorker
Leonie Jerome, Churchill's Aunt.
A secluded private estate in
Co. Monaghan, covering 1,000 acres of undulating Irish countryside,
dotted with ancient woodland and glittering lakes.
This is the Castle Leslie Estate,
one of only 30 great Irish castle estates still run by the original
family. Since the 1660s, the distinguished and somewhat individual
Leslie family have lived here, welcoming everyone from politicians
to poets, ambassadors to ufologists.
Now it welcomes you with some
of the most unusual and enchanting luxury accommodation in all
of Ireland. Following a huge investment over the last decade,
the beautiful Estate is waiting for you to discover it. There's
something for everyone with a range of luxury accommodation including
the magnificent Castle and the charming Hunting Lodge
